It will take 40 years before any other country will trust the US in regard to economic policy and international treaties. 2 years and he has screwed the world. We really are now living in a fool’s paradise.

That depends on what happens over the next year. The world can change on a dime. Maybe, for example, Putin will be Poloniumed. (Charles — does that statement violate your policies?)

Of course, tearing institutions down is far simpler than reconstructing them. We could be in the midst of Humpty-Dumpty but I am going to reject that dark possibility, at least for now. Pelosi is smart and we have a chance at repairing the damage. The US has had a long history of betraying treaties made with the native peoples, yet we emerged from that period, better and stronger. Let’s hope that Trump is a dying gasp of an old order that will be wiped out over the next two years.
