Congress allocated close to 50 billion for rent assistance, and for some reason it’s not getting to those who need it. That money would go a long way to helping those in need financially.

I work part time for the local housing authority.

The application for Rent Assistance, I’m told, is 14 pages long. That’s a major problem for a lot of people. Online or telephone assistance is not, apparently, available (or wasn’t at the time of our last meeting.), The local Ojibwa reservation has a trimmed form that they use that’s only 2 pages (front & back) and they’re having much more use of the programs.
