No, Walter, I never wonder.

OK, you got any ideas? Because I hear this percentage endlessly, and it makes no sense to me.

No I don’t. You know it not my nature to turn for help unless I really feel I have to. There has only been two other times in my life that I did actually look to the government for some support. I wasn’t even looking for a total hand holding, just some extra support while I was trying to get things moving again.

I came across the same thing both time. You either have to be totally destitute or a crook. What a stupid way to offer help. In Texas, I was actually told to sell my 300 car, my only transportation to a part time job I had at the time, my only job, in order to get 84 dollars a month for food stamps.

Sell my car. No… I needed a little push, not to be totally dependent on largesse.

There is special interest at both end of the spectrum, the money end and the lack of money end. If some of these programs were designed to be helpful, preventive, and not oppressive, it would accomplish much more.

Most people don’t like to be owned by anyone, but all people can use a little help sometimes.
