You will hardly ever here J4J used anymore. It’s almost exclusively Messianic. They think it gives them more credibility.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe, who passed away in 1994. There is still a small core of believers who insist that he was the Mashiach. They were called “Messianists” and the J4J decided to co-opt that terminology in order to cause confusion.
