Expect Congressional Republicans to treat Obama’s legislative plan in the manner of an almond-hating child who is given a bowl of Rocky Road ice cream. They try to spit out the components that conflict with their highly dogmatic political view and devour the parts that they find palatable.

But they also will do whatever it takes to ensure that the economy does not dramatically improve and unemployment stays high — to do otherwise would violate their solemn oath that the number one priority of the GOP is to undermine the welfare and security of the nation while Obama is in the White House.
