True, but if you need a dispatcher to tell you leaving the safety of your car to insert yourself into a situation in which you know the (real) police will be entering in the immediate future is a bad idea (let alone whether or not you think the individual is a threat), you’re not thinking with a working brain to start with.

Even had this unfolded differently, and the police saw HIM with a gun, he might have well ended up dead himself via police intervention.
