Hell, just look at the trend line on Silver’s predictions for 2012. Obama never held a better than 4% lead over Romney, spent much of the year within 3 points of him, and saw his lead plummet right after the first presidential debate. Not a gradual tapering as Clinton has had since the DNC, but a plummet from one day to the next. Before we start running around with our hair on fire, how’s about we wait for the trend lines to actually cross and Trump take and hold the lead for a period of time.

Because that would be way too late. Voting starts in a week or so.
