re: #162 reidr

I started casually reading his blog a few months ago. He doesn’t toe the right wing talking points, which is refreshing. I tend to skip a lot of his foreign policy posts (which is most of them), but the ones I’ve read sound reasonable to me. He’s also called out the right wing for their idiocy when needed. He’s anti-Romney and anti-Palin. Compared to most conservative bloggers, he strikes me as very sane. Aside from the recommended blog list, what’s not to like? Maybe he’s nutty on social issues, but I haven’t read many such posts.

The recommended site list is so horrible, I can hardly get past it to read his other stuff. Personally, I am appalled by isolationism. Anti-Palin is easy, why is he anti-Romney? After seeing his other stuff, I would guess religion is why. That would be reprehensible. He’s more in line with Ron Paul than with anything I see as conservative. I think Ron Paul is a loon, in case that wasn’t clear.

Sadly, this phrase

Compared to most conservative bloggers, he strikes me as very sane.

is now completely meaningless.
