On a different vein, I suggest that we all raise a glass to the six Marines and two Nepalis who died in a helicopter crash in the Himalayas.

The Marines sometimes get a bad reputation in the US, because they are shock troops. Well, they are. That is normally what they do. My dad was one. He’s buried in Arlington, for good reason.

But in this case, we sent several twin Hueys and Ospreys for purely humanitarian work to Nepal. One of our helicopters crashed because of “fuel problems” and everyone died.

Let us please hope for peace and solace to their families and understand that they were doing the type of work that is the best that humans can be. They died for us, displaying our better angels.

So sad.

With whom do the Marines have a bad reputation? i know of very few people who do not hold them in high regard.
