What will it take for the GOP to clamp down on hate-mongers within them? Another election loss? A Breivik-style massacre/terrorist attack by a self-described Republican Crusader?

The right wing base will not clamp down the hate. They will double down and vote ever more extreme candidates into office at the local level. We have a countrywide civil war going on right now between about 50-60% of the white population against white moderates and liberals, blacks, Latinos, and everyone else who is not one of “them”.

The majority of the white population supporting this is about 65 years old or older now. They will continue this voting behavior until they die of old age. Their hate is real and heartfelt. It is not supported be real world facts and reality. It is propagated purely by the ]right wing bubble propaganda which they choose over reality.
