Hmmm…merit pay for teachers, longer school days and school years, and:

“On charter schools, he said the caps instituted by some states on how many are allowed aren’t “good for our children, our economy, or our country.”

Well I like some of the ideas he puts forth, but it could be because they are mostly smoke an mirrors.

Before he can do any of that, he’ll have to get it by the Congress (and the NEA lobby). Then, since most of it is a form of encouragement to state governments, states would also have to buy in. And since a lot of states have been attempting to find ways around No Child Left Behind, that should be quite a feat.
