Nah. Primary care should be by much cheaper nurse-practitioner types, who can probably handle 90% of common illnesses and refer just problem cases up to you Dr. House guys.

That’s what they were preaching to me thirty years ago in academic studies of the issues, and I assume it’s much truer today.
