Absolutely. Imagine the scandal if the memos had been exposed only AFTER Kerry had won because of them.

I’ve always said that this wasn’t a political issue for me at all. It was a very simple issue of fact. The memos were fakes. Let the political chips fall where they may, but fakes is fakes.

Reality still mattered at that point. Now, in the Trump era, I’m not so sure.
