Exactly. Geoffrey Berman, the US Attorney who signed off on these warrants was Giuliani’s law partner, donated the maximum personal amount to both Trump’s primary & general election campaigns and was appointed directly by Trump. The only reason a guy like that green-lights something like this is because there’s so much overwhelming evidence backing it up that to choose not to would eventually lead to criminal corruption / obstruction charges against him.
Berman was apparently recused from this investigation, and it was apparently Rosenstien who signed off on the warrant petition going to a judge. At least that’s what I’ve heard on CNN while driving around. But otherwise, yeah, I completely agree.
