Palin tells the Washington Times for a Sunday story that she is eager to campaign for Republicans and independents and even Democrats who share her views on limited government, national defense and energy independence.

“Energy independence” is the key point.

Problem is, the Repubs and the Dems are each only half right on the issue. We need to COMBINE all approaches. I want to see:

• Drilling in Alaska and Gulf of Mexico done in a way to minimize the environmental impact (R);
• Crash program of building newest-generation ultrasafe nuke plants (R);
• Increased funding for “alternative energy” research (D);
• Increased funding for government labs like Livermore doing fusion research (R);
• Focus on accelerating solar cell efficiency (D)
…etc.

(THe “R” and “D” after each item indicate which party is most promoting which entry.)

We must take the petro-dollars away from the islamic Theocrats of the Middle East.
