I don’t know if anyone would find this interesting, but sometimes when I’m getting some exercise I watch old bloggheads.tv diavlogs, and the one I was just watching (from last week) had a brief bit on the Park 51 community center / mosque. Here’s a link just to the couple of minutes where Michael Moynihan of Reason and Heather Hurlburt of the National Security Network discuss the topic:

Anyway, Heather mentions how her employer attempted to encourage prominent national security figures to be more open with their dismay over all the US anti-mosque demagoguery, and here’s my quick transcript of that bit:

Heather: There’s a lot of people who should be hit for not saying anything and we, frankly — we spent a little time trying to, sort of, gin up more serious national security types to go out and say things and the level of fear that has been instilled over, you know, ‘what will happen to me if I say something on this issue’, was really, as a civil libertarian, very, very dissapointing to me.
