It’s not really new. The mainstreaming of racism pretty much started with David Duke.

Back when the KKK was sued by Morris Dees and the SPLC (early 70s), the KKK crumbled from millions to a few 1000. Duke appeared on the scene in the late 70s, early 80s, not carrying a shotgun, or Nazi symbols, or dressed in robes, but wearing a suit and tie. Good looking and college-educated, this was the new face of the Klan. The message was “embrace your white heritage” and “we don’t hate Blacks, we’re just pro-White.” Of course, nothing has changed. They are still are immoral and ruthless as they ever were.

It’s a mind fuck straight out of 1984 and now with our Black president and the racism of the teabaggers, it’s getting mainstreamed once again.
