Why do I have a knee-jerk reaction to such blatant Texas shaming? I dunno. Maybe it’s because we have over 3.3 million voting Democrats in this large state. Maybe it’s because in our fairly recent history (20 years ago) Democrats were in control (Ann Richards?) Yes, the Rethugs got into control here faster than they did other states, but they now control 33 statehouses — the methods being a combination of many things, but gerrymandering and voter disenfranchisement are 2 large parts.

Wonder what Wisconsin would look like after 20 years.

In the 2012 election, we were only the 16th reddest state, BTW. That’s out of 24 reds.

Yes, our leaders are particularly nutty. Agreed. But I live in bonnie blue Dallas, where our mayor recently stated that he’s more concerned about white male terrorists than Syrian refugees.
