There are rarely children at my house (too rarely since the grandkids live in faraway Massachusetts). Nevertheless I keep my guns in a locked safe. There is a log sheet in the safe where I record each and every time I remove one of them. Since I usually take a handgun with me on the farm, I end up doing this every day. I could just lock it in the glovebox of my pickup, but putting it back in the safe just eliminates another possible worry.
