Well, as I said to him, the DNC is center-right, and the GOP is clownshit insane. There is no liberal political party in the US.

Parenthetically, this is why I am very worried about the 2012 election. Actual liberals are increasingly pissed off at being totally unrepresented, and I see a very strong possibility that Obama will be flanked from the left, splitting part of Obama’s vote off, thus handing it to President Crazypants. (whoever wins the GOP primary)
