There are at least three possible sources of noise here:

1. it’s an oral conversation;
2. it’s a conversation between people speaking different languages;
3. it’s a recounting of the same conversation from memory.

Now, I have no pro-Bush bias, as I said, I’d like to see him as a defendant before the Hague tribunal. I’m trying to think a bit as a skeptical historian would here.
