That’s very much along the lines of Czech evolutionary biologist Jaroslav Flegr was saying earlier today here. Omicron - if it turns out to be hypercontagious yet benign - could be the silver bullet we’ve been looking for.

That would be great, but I think that the SA doctor is being repeatedly quoted out of context. I’m going to ‘both sides’ this: a lot of people are fear mongering regarding the new strain, but a lot of other people are trying to completely downplay it. The bottom line is that we just don’t know yet, but we will have a lot more info in the next 2 weeks.
