I don’t have an opinion on whether it would be “nice” for “pro-life” dems (sounds like the worst of both worlds to me) to “have a place”.

A university is a place where young people learn. Booting out a group that wishes to do just that is a stupid move - legal perhaps, but completely stupid and ulitmately, divisive.
