If it were just guns over there the MRAP would not exist. What’s wrong with an ordinary armored truck? MRAP. For small town (Banning, CA) police department that would like to compensate for coming up short. Er… somehow. 5 MPG and it aint ni hybrid.

The MRAPs have already been built and Utah’s Highway Patrol was able to get one essentially free. It’s blast protection also makes it well suited for approaching a suspected bomb.
