Clinton and Sanders are looking at the same dilemma, but in different states. Clinton’s lead in Illinois is entirely owed to Cook County—she is trailing in the rest of the state by about a 53-47 margin. And here is why that matters—three-quarters of Cook County has reported. So, expect Sanders to winnow her lead further.

As mentioned earlier, the same phenomenon is working in Missouri, but in a way where we might expect Sanders to lose his current edge a bit. He now leads 52-47 over Clinton in the Show-Me State. But virtually all of his edge is in Greene County. He only leads in the rest of the state by 300 votes, and that’s without most of St. Louis and Kansas City reporting.
