Do you think we can hope that the younger generation of Muslims might actually like the freedom of democracy and reject Islamic law?

It is the western style constitutional separation of church and state and constitutional protections afforded to individual rights, not democracy, which is inconsistent with Islamic (Sharia) law. We have examples in Iran and Gaza of how democracy alone, without an underlying functional constitution, is no guarantee of good government.
