The reason we’re talking about “regulation” is your #58, though. There is regulation, it just differs from public airwave regulation. Sorry to be circular, but this is why we see Pat and Glenn on cable and not broadcast.

The other part of the equation is advertising, and the cable interests who own other interests that can float keeping Beck around in the wake of a viewer boycott, as Fox did for so long in the states.

None of that has anything to do with regulation, either, I’m just saying there are reasons other than viewer apathy that these people still have a platform on mainstream media.
