In other news, I ordered some small balloons so I can make some paper mache eggs. I took one out and blew it up* as my younger cat, never having seen such a contraption, watched the process with intense curiosity.

I batted it over the table and let it fall to the floor so she could investigate. She immediately sprinted after it then pulled up short and spent about 10 minutes cautiously sidling up to it from different directions and sniffing at it. She finally got up the nerve to tap it a couple of times, but something about it weirded her out and she quit.

I’m wondering how long it’ll be before she (or the other one) really goes after it in earnest and it pops, scaring the hell out of them.
