Iran has their own reasons for trying to save the Maliki govt. “We” don’t need their help, they need our help.

If they go all in to save their puppet/client/whateveryoucallit, without *our* help… Iraq will end up hosting an Iran/Saudi proxy war, the price of oil will reach heights that make massive investment in solar and/or wind power high return…

This might be a good time for us to take a nap.

I’m generally opposed to more intervention in Iraq right now but I can’t seem to get past my initial reaction to the idea of a military alliance with Iran as a spectacularly bad idea. But the idea has been floating around and I don’t see much opposition much less outrage.
