I’m just not a gun person — sorry.

If you actually visualize real-type scenarios of what might happen to me or my family — the fact of me having a giant gun somewhere in my house isn’t going to do a lick of good. It’s just a power fantasy to make owners feel safe and confident, but 99.99% of the time, if an Islamic hit squad is coming to get your family in real reality, it’s not like you can just stand there on your front porch blasting away at strangers on the presumption they are assassins.

I would gently suggest that you have an overly-simplified mental picture of realistic self-defense scenarios.

Of course, nothing can protect you from someone shooting you in the back when you’re walking down the street.

But trying to hit you in your home? Simple question: Would you rather have the firearm in that scenario, or not?
