Like I said, unless Congress acts - all the rates increase, not just the high income brackets. It would realign the tax brackets from the following (using single filer as guide):
10% (to $8,375 in 2010); 15%; 25%; 28%; 33% and 35%

to the following:
15% (to $26,250); 28%; 31%; 36%; and 39.6%.

That’s the state of the law in place today, and what would happen if there’s no action by Congress. Now, we can expect some kind of adjustment by Congress because allowing the Bush cuts to lapse would mean a significant tax hike for most Americans. What it will look like is anyone’s guess.
