How does the religious right accept Trump when his wife poses for pictures stark naked?

Trump has tapped so directly into the fear and hate of the Wingnut Base that it’s like he bypasses all the other criteria. Indeed, this seems to be the take-home lesson from Frank Luntz’s focus group this week - any attempt to sway his voters with negative information about him only tightens his grip.

This surprised Luntz, but shouldn’t really surprise anyone who has been paying attention to the rising tide of derp:

It would appear the focus-group participants were a spirited bunch. Most believed ridiculous conspiracy theories about President Obama; they assumed Trump’s most outlandish lies were true; they endorsed his anti-Muslim plan; and they discounted any information that originated from major news organizations.

We’ve been saying this for months - Murdoch and Ailes have been carefully cooking up this toxic mixture of hate, fear, ignorance and arrogant stupidity for years, and Trump comes in, sees it sitting on the counter, and just takes it away from them.
