re: #177 realwest

Hey Gus, I think it’s a combination (note:NOT a conspiracy!) whereby the ACLU is trying to prove that it is relevent and Obama/Holder want to please their Base and so are willing to throw it a bone, no matter what it may cost the U.S. Intelligence Services or to keep America Safe.
I had a lot of disagreements with President Bush, but I never for one moment doubted his sincerity in defending America, nor the fact that he was successful in doing so.
If Obama actually has some sort of strategy in place to defend us, I’d sure as hell like to know what it is.

The only strategy I’ve seen from Obama thus far amounts to photo-ops and rhetorical advances to antagonistic and undemocratic nations. This also includes that video he had made for the “Iranian people.” You can almost say it’s an MTV strategy in which he thinks if he presents himself as a cowering smiley faced American to our enemies they will love us.

Right now the focus has shifted to these enhanced interrogation techniques and former bush officials. The terrorist villain is off the radar and the message from the Obama administration is the United States played a villainous role in the war on terror. Perhaps that is part of his strategy which is as I stated previously a confessional (which also has political value for the Democrats) which will help improve the perception of the United States across the world.

Frankly they’re taking their eye off the ball.
