I had to look at that article too. I’ve heard the term used, but never knew what it meant.

So, I have a question, who agrees with these two people, in the sense agree with their “strategy?” Anyone think they have a good idea?

No me. Those two were fairly nasty customers who wanted to cause massive damage as a prelude to remaking things their way. However, I don’t think they are entirely relevant now. While Obama does use crises to push through his ideas, so will any politician. I’ve seen no evidence that Obama seeks to cause chaos in order to force things to go his way. Thus he lacks the willingness to do damage that made Cloward-Piven dangerous. And even then, it’s important to remember that “The System” proven far more durable than Cloward and Piven imagined it would be. In the end, they were just a pair of New Left choads, who produced a lot of noise but did little major damage.
