I wonder how they made eating snails popular? Who was the first Frenchman that picked one up and said “Now this looks delicious.”

I have no idea, but I do know that I’m grateful that when a friend and I had lunch in Calais, she let me off the snails because they weren’t kosher.

She ate several.
