I think as of ‘48 there were about 650,000 Jews and 1,500,000 Palestinians, and (memory failing me …) several tens of thousands of Christians. (no idea what ethnic background was on the Christians.)

The Arabs were complaining to the U.N. that the Jews were taking over economically and culturally.

The above statement is factual.
I’ve never understood what the fundamental issue with the complaint was, since things were, in fact, improving economically and culturally.
