For some reason, Yahoo has become my default home page and I can’t get rid of it. The “news” stories are completely hyperbolic.

Same thing happened to me the other day when I installed a Winzip upgrade. I was in a hurry and didn’t proceed with my usual caution—I just clicked through all the defaults of the installation. I ended up with some weird search engine replacing my homepage & default search engines in all my browsers.

I had to uninstall it via the Control Panel (Win7), then manually reset all my browsers homepages & search engines, then finally remove all references to it in the registry. It was a PITA. It wasted way more of my time than paying closer attention to the installation would have.
