re: #177 windsagio

yeah… that’s brutal. Its also a good place to try to fix sexism. Like the old loathesome ‘quill pen and inkpot’ example.

re: #166 iceweasel

That’s an overwhelming toughie, its probably ‘good’ for conflict tho’.

Well— to build on Obdi’s point about the infighting—
There’s still an issue in the US where some people, especially in that ‘sex positive’ community, are focussing on issues that imo are of less import at best, and divert attention and resources from very serious issues at worst. When they don’t lead to ignoring it altogether.
You’ll find a lot of people working on the sex work issue who came out of that sex positive movement, and many of them are all about focussing more on the ‘stopping the demonisation’ of sex work — but they’re looking at college students working as strippers or escorts, phone sex, porn, whatever. They’ll have some minor interest in the areas that affect others, and almost no interest in the worldwide sex slavery trade, or global issues about sex work, or even the realities about who sex workers are even here in the us. Slaves, pretty much.
That’s my current problem with some of those people.
