Cancel culture… What adults call accountability.

It always bothered me that the new wave of right-wing shitheads treated ‘cancel culture’ like it was some sort of new thing. People have been getting canceled for their views as long as there has been recorded history. “Proscription” was an ancient term for canceling a political opponent, their supporters, their families, and generally anyone who opposed you (usually by means of outright murder, though the practice was somewhat tamed over the years).
