I recall seeing a meme “I would rather support a cop than a criminal”

As if the two had to be mutually exclusive…

And I recall that right after 9/11 the Chinese justified their crackdown on the Uighurs as part of the broader War on Terror and nobody complained very loudly about what they were doing at the time.

What about a criminal cop?
