They are starting to get more of their supplies from Russia and the Ex-Soviet Union.

But the point is that the US, Japan and Western Europe consume about five times their populations’ share of oil. As long as that is the case, they are going to be forced to deal with a disproportionate share of the world’s crises.

We deal with a disproportionate share of the world’s crises because we are the world’s lone superpower. That won’t change just based on where we get our fuel.
