I hope one of the locals can figure out how to file a lawsuit against the county, then, for the civil rights violations being done by the militia and the county’s unwillingness to interfere.
I don’t know if that’s technically possible, but i’d hope so.
I also hope that the sheriff faces serious and well organized and financed local opposition when he runs for reelection.
Caveat: Assuming that the sheriff is actually *not* actively working to prevent these abuses. As mentioned in a following comment it is possible he faces the same issues as the BLM - how to defuse the situation without triggering a firefight and bystanders getting killed.
