Both my folks are in the civil service and will be going in tomorrow just to fill in paperwork and then find out if they’re going to be working or sent home until the government reopens. So as much as I want the GOP forced to cave, I’m not relishing what this is gonna end up doing to the household finances.

I can take one sigh of relief because I’ve been designated “essential” but going for more than six weeks just borrowing on Mastercard is going to put a real crimp on me! And as I posted above, it hurts knowing that we’re being held hostage by a smug racist asshole named Steven Miller and he will continue to keep us hostage until the Dreamers are rounded up and kicked out.
