Dumb question. If Trump hadn’t toughened the penalties for mishandling classified information, in his attempt to “gotcha” Hillary, how much trouble would he still be in? Are the other charges serious enough that he’d still be living at the top of Shit Mountain, or is he really hoist by his own petard here?

Oh he’s well and truly hung by his own petard. Even without the mishandling charge. If I remember correctly, the DOJ is also investigating him for espionage as well. It’s going to be interesting with what all they are going to charge this asswipe with.
