Michael Brecker played in Frank Zappa’s band in 1977-1978, and an absolutely jaw-dropping sax solo (and I say that as one who is not particularly fond of tenor sax honkage) of his can be heard on the track “The Purple Lagoon/Approximate” on the “Zappa In New York” album.
