It’s not clear to me what real options we had, that were viable. Or that we have now, that are viable as far as seeing that Afghanistan becomes a country that works on the international stage the way we expect nations to work.

Germany didn’t have full sovereignty until what, 1991? Why the rush to pretend like we weren’t in charge in Afghanistan. We made Karzai, but what good did it do?
