Unless the gun was being handled as part of a scene - and re-reading the follow-up, it looks like it may have been - he has no business firing even blanks at anyone, for any reason. That’s what I was meaning. Now again, if it was during the filming of a scene and he was supposed to be pulling the trigger as part of the action, then I retract my statement.

That’s my understanding. The scene called for him to shoot the gun, he did, but it had a live round in it and someone got killed.
