Don’t know the sci-fi, the motto sticks form a Foreign Legion story somewhere, also used in a Gene Hackman FL movie. One of our small airborne units working out of Italy also uses it.

This would be a good time to do a 90 degree career change if you’re young enough. DoD is due for a cyclic dry-out no matter who wins the election. Sounds like you could work the business or even leisure environments— “conference-in-a-can”. The greatest joy of course is to go into competition with your old shop.

I’m 34, so a bit too old for a massive change, and my background is now firmly established in sales. I may be able to move a bit towards customer service or business development, though. I’m seeing what’s available and acting accordingly.
