Hey, RWC, you’ll appreciate this tale.
I went to make up 25 rounds of 7.7x58 Arisaka for an old Japanese Type 99 I have. Someone before me sporterized it so I keep it as a hunting rifle. I set the calipers for a minimum OAL of 3.1” and start putting them together. My, I think, those 174 gr BTHPs are seated really deep. I go back and look again this morning and realized that the battery in my calipers is almost, but not quite, dead. Last nights 3.1” was really 2.86” … Major whoops moment! Bullet puller time! Though I hadn’t crimped them yet so I’m just pulling them out enough to reseat with the properly set up die.
