Let’s do a quick check here:

Highly secretive on members of their organization.
Heavily-armed marches on city streets wearing distinctive uniforms.
Engages in violent intimidation tactics toward minorities
— as well as anyone who dares to side with them.
More interested in keeping themselves in absolute power than in justice.

Are we talking about the Ferguson police here, or the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan? I’m really, really having difficulty telling the difference now.

My great-grandfather, the town sherif, was in the Klan.
(Heh, go figure…my family tree is full of nuts.)
The difference is, they couldn’t / can’t wear the sheets on the outside during the day.
